EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members. Good morning! Market Update: It's not Monday; it just FEELS like Monday as we begin a new trading day, week and month, with all of the major indexes lower. Right from the opening bell stocks have been under pressure. Blame tariffs; blame a contracting Manufacturing report; blame September, a historically rough month for the market. Whatever the case traders are in a selling mood with all of the major indexes now back below their respective 20 and 50 day moving averages, turning the technical advantage back over to the bears. We've also got the VIX back over 20; increased fear into the new month. So what's next? First, the 20 day on the S&P is just beneath 2907, so that's a key level to watch. Next, with the VIX back over 20 it could be hard to convince traders to put additional capital to work. Accordingly it continues to make sense to wait for even cheaper prices or a recovery strong enough that takes some of the risk out of being long the market.
