EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: MARKET UPDATE The monthly jobs report came out weaker than expected but not much reaction by the market. Instead, traders remain focused on earnings, like the blowout quarter reported by Apple after the bell last night that has the stock vaulting to a fresh all time high. In fact, most of the highly visible tech stocks had very strong earnings reports which has helped to keep the market higher. Blue chips are in good shape as well with the Dow hitting another all time high. So even though the market isn't flying high today it isn't falling back either; par for the course these days. One does have to wonder when traders might decide in unison to lock in nice profits instead of holding stocks like they have of late. It really could come out of nowhere but there is no indication that is on the horizon. I do believe we are at a point where it doesn't make much sense to put too much fresh capital to work on the long side. Instead it's a great time to be patient, let some of the stocks that reported blowout earnings pullback some, and then get involved. I think we could see some of that over the next few weeks. So the message remains the same here; the bulls are in charge, the market is extended some and it's nearly impossible to try to short with much success. And I do believe patience will be rewarded. Companies Reporting earnings today (November 3) Before Market Opens DUK, SSP, MSG, MCO, REV and BID After Market Closes: None Companies reporting earnings Monday (November 6) Before Market Opens: BAH, CAH, CHH, CVS, JLL, KORS, MYL, ON and SYY After Market Closes: AMC, ATH, CAR, GDDY, HHC, KNX, NSA, PGRE, PCLN, RRGB, SWKS, THC, TRIP and WTW ADDITIONS TO WATCH LIST We will be updating the Candidate Tracker over the weekend with a nice number of additions by Monday. BRIEF COMMENTS ON SELECT WATCH LIST STOCKS: SHORTS: None at this time LONGS: Large Cap Watch List BX - A bit of confusion on this one as the stop loss was set as any CLOSE below the 20 day moving average even though was meant to be the 50 day which it did close slightly below. So we are keeping on the Watch List. If you continue to hold watch to see if the stock can close back above the 20 day, currently at $33.10, which would be very bullish. Mid Cap Watch List None Small Cap Watch List SYNT - Stock is fairly flat and a close back above yesterday's close of $23.56 would be bullish. PETS - Stock is down by almost 1.5% on some profit taking. Would like to see it close back above yesterday's close of $37.15 which would be very bullish. DELETIONS FROM THE WATCH LIST None I want to wish everyone a restful weekend and I will be back Monday morning with my EB Watch List Update Report. At your service, John Hopkins EarningsBeats
