EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update:
The bears had an opening yesterday, a chance to grab control of the action. Instead, the bulls had other ideas, and just as all of the major indexes tested their respective 20 day moving averages, buyers stepped in. Now today we're seeing some selling but all of the major indexes remain above all key technical levels. The VIX is showing that nerves have flared up some; its up close to 10% and also back above all key technical levels and is showing traders are back to one finger on the sell button. But we've seen this before, now we'll have to see if buyers jump back in prior to the end of the day and ahead of the weekend. Many analysts point to concerns that have popped up around potential tax reform. But the bulls will point to something they feel is even more important; strong earnings. In other words, they like the fundamental picture. We did see the S&P get as low as 2566 yesterday so that is a level we should keep an eye on if the selling picks up. To the upside the S&P got as high as 2597. So that's the range for now.
