EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update:
The VIX remains above all major technical levels as trader nerves are tested. We've gone from non-stop market advancement to choppy action with the S&P testing its 20 day moving average for four straight days now. So far it keeps bouncing off of its lows and holding the 20 day which the bears will say shows some cracks building but the bulls will say it shows traders are still willing to buy on pullbacks. The bulls will also point out that if this a real pullback, fine. They can easily live with minor selling. Of course if the selling picks up then that tone could change. But so far all we've seen is a little bit of profit taking. Let's also remember; the market had gotten extremely overbought. It needed some relief. So this really isn't surprising. Let's also keep in mind that the S&P is one decent day away from its all time high. So the bears are stretching if they think they've taken control of the action here; they haven't. For sure we could get some more selling, especially if the S&P does close below its 20 day, now at 2574. So keep an eye on that level. Otherwise we need to continue to respect the bulls who have shown tremendous resilience for a long time now. Until that changes the market still favors the long side.
