Market Update: The bulls have become re-interested in tech stocks today with the NASDAQ leading the move higher today. Today's move won't mean much if the gains are lost later today but so far the NASDAQ is back above all key technical levels which is a positive. Also the VIX is down by almost 8% and back below all key technical levels, also a plus. One thing the recent selling did was to help relieve what were overbought conditions, especially on the Dow and S&P. Now none of the major indexes are technically overbought, clearing the way for higher prices if traders continue to commit capital to stocks. Since the NASDAQ has been the laggard of late, this is the one major index I am keeping an eye on. It will be important for the NASDAQ to close above its 20 day, currently at 6795, if the bulls hope to regain the upper hand as a close below that level would give the bears some technical advantage. So let's see what happens as the day progresses and go from there. BRIEF COMMENTS ON SELECT WATCH LIST STOCKS: SHORTS: None at this time LONGS: Large Cap Watch List DVN - Stock is fairly flat. Need to see the stock close back above the 50 day moving average, currently at $37.33, to get back on track. PANW - Stock was added to the Watch List this morning at an entry price of $140.95 with a price target of $149 and a stop of any INTRA DAY move below $139.35. A close above $143.77 would be bullish. Mid Cap Watch List None Small Cap Watch List DO - Stock is flat and is currently below its 20 day moving average. Would like to see it close back above that level, currently at $16.17. IDTI - PLEASE NOTE. This stock closed below its 50 day moving average, which was the stop level, on Tuesday so should have been removed from the Watch List. So it will be removed. It's up slightly today and important that it closes back above the 50 day, currently at $29.87. The next key level of resistance then will become the 20 day, currently at $30.86. IMAX - Stock is down slightly. As a reminder we have a second entry at $23.45. KLIC - Stock is higher by 2.5% and a close above the 20 day moving average, currently at $24.91, would be very bullish. DIOD - Stock was added to the Watch List this morning at an entry price of $28.62 with a price target of $31 and a stop of any INTRA DAY move below $28.
