EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: The bulls threw everything they had at the market at the end of last week with the result being the NASDAQ almost touching 7600 this morning before pulling back some. Without question, tech stocks have led the charge higher while the Dow and S&P have continued to lag. The record high on the NASDAQ has traders wondering if it was too much too quick, with the VIX up by 10% on increased nervousness. Of course anyone who has tried shorting the market lately has found that to be a losing proposition. But the NASDAQ has tacked on almost 1000 points in a month since the February low of 6630, and by any measure that is a huge move in a very short period of time. And keep in mind that stochastics on the NASDAQ hit 99 this morning; they can't really go any higher. But some good news for the bulls is the S&P is back above all key technical levels. The same cannot be said for the Dow as blue chips remain on the bottom rung of the ladder. Right now it looks like the S&P could work its way up near 2808 if buyers stay in a good mood. To the downside the 50 day, now at 2744, should provide support. The question now is; if we do see more of a pullback will traders jump in on any dips? It's very possible, especially if the S&P does revisit that 50 day moving average and holds. So we still have a mixed picture but the bulls have some momentum on their side. But it would still be healthier if all of the major indexes could get back in sync instead of the NASDAQ doing all of the heavy lifting.
