EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: If you ask me if I'm impressed with today's rally my answer would be...no. It's not surprising me that we're seeing a bounce which is being led by a few large cap blue chips that have been beaten down recently. But I'm more interested in looking in at the action on the NASDAQ which had been a powerhouse index up until a few days ago when traders realized the move higher had been way overdone. The bulls might well pull it together later and move the NASDAQ higher but it looks like we might have more selling on bounces then buying on dips. If the market continues higher today the NASDAQ is going to run into resistance around 7544. To the downside it touched 7473 both yesterday and today before bouncing. So clearly that is a level the bulls know needs to hold. I should point out that even though blue chips are higher today the Dow is struggling to get back above its 20 day moving average. In other words, going nowhere fast. Bottom line is I see no need to rush into anything here. I think the selling could pick up at any moment and if it does traders are likely to get more defensive. We'll proceed with caution.
