EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update:
It's options expiration Friday and we're seeing choppy market action. Early on it looked like the bulls might have something going but as has been the case lately we saw profit taking on the bounce. This is the type of action we should expect when traders are skeptical rather than overly bullish. Even though the NASDAQ has lost some luster lately we should keep it mind that it still remains well about all key technical levels which shows that traders still favor tech stocks even when the market is weak and that if things turn around the NASDAQ will likely lead the move higher. On the flip side we've got the Dow which is currently below key technical levels. And the S&P is straddling just above key technical levels. So it's quite a mixed picture as traders try to figure out an adequate strategy given current market conditions. Nothing is screaming to get aggressively long here. Maybe that will change soon but the current whipsaw action makes it tough to gain much traction. The bulls are hoping at a minimum that the S&P holds the 2750 level which was the low of the day. To the upside there's going to be resistance just above 2800, so a 50 point trading range for now.
