EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: As a reminder, please mark your calendars for next Monday, April 9, when Tom Bowley of StockCharts.com will join me for our Quarterly Earnings webinar, exclusive for EarningsBeats members. More details later in the week. Market Update: The bulls stepped up to the plate yesterday as the S&P dipped below its 200 day moving average with some follow thru today with all of the major indexes higher. This move higher today comes a day before the important non-farm payroll report coming out tomorrow morning. Nerves have calmed some for the moment with the VIX back below its 20 and 50 day moving averages as traders have showed some willingness to put some capital to work on the long side. Personally I feel what we are seeing is an oversold bounce; the bulls knew how important it was to hold the 200 day on the S&P. At the same time the S&Pis trading right near its 20 day moving average. So this is the current range; 2592 to the downside and 2666 to the upside. If the S&P closes above that 2666 level then the next key level of resistance is up near 2695. That jobs report tomorrow could have an impact on stocks, especially if the wage component comes out stronger or weaker than expected. Thus, we could either see a continuation of the current rally or see a sudden shift to the downside though the bulls seems to have gotten some wind beneath their sails.
