EB Watch List Update Report

This move higher comes a day after the market gave up the bulk of large gains yesterday. The explanation for today's move higher is China backing off some on Tariff threats. But whatever the case it doesn't change the fact that the market remains technically challenged. Maybe a bit of good news is the Dow is back above its 20 day moving average, at least Intra day. But every trader out there has got to be wondering what things will look like by day's end. Something else today will be the testimony of Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg on privacy breaches with everyone wondering how that might impact the market. Not surprisingly, the S&P challenged its 20 day moving average of 2656; so far the trading range between the 200 day to the downside and 2656 to the upside remains in tact. The S&P got as high as 2672 on Friday so that is the next level of resistance. I want to point out that earnings season will kick off on Friday with 4 major banks reporting earnings. So perhaps traders will be waiting until then to see if the numbers live up to expectations. In the meantime, the bulls need to show they can hold gains into the close if they hope to garner more interest on the long side.
