EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: The market got off to a good start this morning but now all of the major indexes are off the early highs as we begin a new trading day and week. Traders liked hearing over the weekend that The US and China were putting talks about tariffs on hold for a while with the Dow touching 25,000 for the first time in over a month. In fact the VIX moved lower earlier in the session but has since reversed and is higher by about 1%, not a huge move but showing that sentiment can change quickly in today's market. Note that the S&P got as high as 2739 this morning, a few points shy of last week's high of 2742 so we can see that the bulls are going to have to work harder to clear this important level of resistance. To the downside we saw the S&P get as low as 2701 last week so that is the first level of support should the market retreat here. We might see the market to consolidate some here until the next bit of noteworthy news. Let's see what the rest of the day brings and then go from there.
