EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
First, as a reminder, we will have our Quarterly Update Webinar this afternoon at 4:30 pm eastern. Tom Bowley will be joining me as we discuss creating Chart Lists and preparing for the upcoming earnings season. There's no need for you to register and you will be sent room instructions prior to the event. Also the webinar will be recorded for those of you unable to attend the live presentation.
Market Update:
The bulls must be pleased with some nice follow through this morning with all of the major indexes higher as we begin a new trading day and week. Even better for the bulls; blue chip stocks are leading the move higher with the Dow finally back above all key technical levels. The VIX is lower by over 3% and back in the 12's after challenging 20 not too many days ago showing confidence is building just as earnings season is about to get under way. The S&P got as high as 2778 with the next key level of resistance up near 2790. That is an important level to clear with 2800 next, a level not seen since mid March. Earnings season will get underway on Friday when four major banks report their numbers. Financials are showing some strength today and the overall market would have a much easier time moving even higher if the banks showed some renewed strength. Some more good news for the bulls; none of the major indexes are close to being overbought, even with the recent move higher. So if they can hold the early gains into the close that would have to be seen as a positive.
