Dear Members: Market Update: The consolidation mode I spoke of yesterday seems to be in progress with both the Dow and S&P hanging out near their respective 20 day moving averages while the NASDAQ tries to reclaim its 20 day. While interest on the long side has cooled some there's nothing alarming going on. Instead, traders have gotten a bit more cautious as more companies report their numbers and as earnings season starts moving towards the tail end. Apple did something today that has never been achieved before; they hit the $1 trillion market cap level. That certainly puts them in a league of their own. The S&P did dip below support at 2800 earlier in the session before bouncing some so that is a level the bulls know they must hold or face additional selling. This really is a time to slow down some; no need to rush into the market in any major way here. In fact some additional selling would be just fine.
