EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update: The bulls finally managed to clear the 2850 level on the S&P with all of the major indexes higher as they remain in control of the action. This move higher comes with the VIX at its lowest level since January of this year as trader confidence grows. At the same time, the S&P is nearing overbought territory as it gets within striking range of its all time high of 2872, a mere ten points away and a level where I expect the bears to put up some type of fight. The NASDAQ took another shot at the 7900 level earlier before pulling back some. So it too is within striking range of its all time high of 2933. In the meantime, blue chip stocks continue to lag with the Dow still some thousand points off of its all time high. One has to wonder what might jolt stocks even further with many companies already having reported their earnings. Perhaps the idea of the S&P and NASDAQ possibly reaching all time highs will give the bulls further impetus to take stocks higher. I actually think some selling here wouldn't be a bad thing and in fact might result in better reward to risk opportunities. In fact, just this morning I looked at all 95 of the stocks recently added to the Candidate Tracker and found only a few potential trading candidates - i.e., with a high enough R/R to consider adding to the Watch List. Even on those few I wouldn't mind seeing a further pullback. Point being those companies that reported strong earnings made nice moves higher and need to pull back some before being considered.
