EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: The new week is bringing with it continuing volatility with all of the major indexes lower. The VIX itself is up 13%, near the high of the day, and at a level not seen since mid August. Interest rates continue to climb, something the market is trying to come to grips with. At the end of last week the NASDAQ plowed beneath its 50 day moving average while the S&P tested its 50 day and so far has held. Only the Dow remains near its 20 day and its 50 day, showing blue chips continue to be in favor. There are loads of stocks in the NASDAQ that are very oversold but so far traders are mostly ignoring. However it wouldn't be totally surprising to see some nibbling before long. The S&P got as low as 2869 on Friday so that is now support. To the upside the bulls know they minimally need to get the S&P back above 2900 to regain the momentum.
