Dear Members: Market Update: If you like volatility - a lot of traders do - then you're liking the current market environment with stocks today all over the place but well off session lows. This kind of action is likely to continue as long as the VIX remains elevated, especially when it remains above all key technical levels. Since the NASDAQ continues to lead to the downside we're keeping a close eye on it. It moved below the 7100 support level and got within 15 points of the next level of price support at 7057. But we have seen lately that bounces off of many support levels haven't been able to hold. This is one reason we are being very picky on the alert side lately with an open mind if a stock comes back to a high reward to risk level while keeping tight stops. At some point one of the bounces might stick and the worst of the selling could be over. But trying to pick the exact moment is going to be tricky. We did see the NASDAQ get as low as 7072 today and if that goes the 7057 level would be next and beyond that 7000. And again, none of the major indexes are currently oversold so still plenty of room to the downside if traders remain stingy with their capital.
