EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
First, as a reminder Tom Bowley and I will be conducting an earnings related webinar today at 4:30 pm eastern. We will be focusing on our Strong Earnings Chart List (aka the Candidate Tracker) including identifying the 10 most promising stocks as we get ready to head into year end. There is no need for you to register and you will be sent room instructions prior to the event. The webinar will also be recorded in case you are unable to make the live event.
Market Update:
The bears seem to be ignoring the fact that this week is one to be thankful for as all of the major indexes are lower as we begin a holiday shortened week. Though the selling today is wide spread it comes as no surprise that tech stocks are particularly out of favor with the NASDAQ down close to 2% as no one seems to want anything to do with the large market cap stocks like Apple, Facebook and Netflix, to name a few. Though the VIX is higher today it's still quite a bit lower than the recent highs with traders still reluctant to go long but not necessarily in panic mode. Still, the market has given back a big chunk of the gains after the rally off of the October 29 bottom and yet none of the major indexes are technically oversold. We're certainly seeing how tough it is for the market to make any progress when those large cap tech stocks are getting pounded; will traders at some point start to see them as bargains or will they continue to unload them on any bounces? This is a really important question since it's hard to imagine a major rally without the participation of those stocks that have led the market higher for a long time. The NASDAQ did dip below 7100 earlier in the session before bouncing some so we can see that 7100 is a level that needs to hold or the market is likely to go lower. To the upside the NASDAQ remains over 6% lower than the recent high so a lot of room to move higher if traders get into a buying mood.

LONGS:
Large Cap Watch List
UAA - We added this stock to the Watch List Friday at an entry price of $21.78 with a price target of $25 and a stop of any close below $21.50. Would like to see the stock close above its 20 day moving average, currently at $21.77.
Mid Cap Watch List
ETSY - Stock is lower by 1.2%, has bounced nicely off the low of the day and is currently back above all key technical levels. A close back above Friday's close of $47.26 would be bullish. In the meantime the stop is any CLOSE below $46.
Small Cap Watch List
TNDM - Stock is getting smacked today, down almost 7% and giving up recent gains. As a reminder the stop loss is any CLOSE below $31 and we'll need to watch to see if it can recover some as the day progresses.
ODP - Stock has pulled back to our entry price of $3. Any close above $3.10 would be bullish. As a reminder our stop is any CLOSE below $2.95.
FIT - We added this stock the Watch List this morning at an entry price of $5.45 with a price target of $6.15 and a stop of any CLOSE below the 50 day moving average, currently at $5.35.
