EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update:
We've been waiting patiently (and frustratingly) for the market to correct some after the non-stop bounce off of the late December bottom but the bulls want nothing to do with that with all of the major indexes continuing their northbound move. Today's big battle is taking place on the NASDAQ as it hovers right near its 200 day moving average (currently at 7465) the lone hold out as it tries to join the Dow and S&P in closing above all key technical levels. The big winner right now is the Dow as it moves back to the level it was at on December 4 when stocks began there sharp move lower. In other words, the Dow has now regained all losses from the prior plunge. With today's move higher the market remains overbought. The VIX is lower by over 6% as it continues to hang out near 15; much lower than the recent highs but still showing some hesitancy to go all in on the long side. Key today will be the close on the NASDAQ; can it close back above the 200 day? If yes then that would likely add fuel to the rally while any late day selling might indicate the market has gotten ahead of itself as we get ready to head into a long holiday weekend.
