EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update: The market is in one of those zones where traders don't seem to care that all of the major indexes are technically overbought. The fact that the market has risen non-stop for almost two months seems to matter not. The thing is it probably will matter at some point, and maybe soon, which makes it difficult to put new positions in place. For sure this have been plenty of lost opportunities during the big move off of that late December bottom. And the market could continue to power higher here. Maybe some perspective is in order. The S&P has climbed 439 points off the bottom. It's now 15 points away from key resistance near 2800. So yes, the market could continue moving higher and maybe even clear that 2800 level but when no one wants to sell right when key resistance is around the corner it's at least worth thinking about. Then there's the VIX which has worked its way back down into the 14's; not much worry at the moment. But the VIX can get overbought/oversold just like stocks and the market in general. And right now it looks like there's too much complacency. Later today we'll get the Fed minutes from the last meeting. Not sure how much that matters right now since traders have mostly tossed the Fed to the side now that they've gone dovish. Pretty clear at the moment that key resistance on the S&P is up at that 2800 level which is right where it was at before the December slide started. So basically a round trip and no progress since the December 3 high.
