EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: The beginning of a much needed pullback? Another false alarm by day's end? A buy the dip moment for the bulls? All reasonable questions with all of the major indexes lower as traders try to figure out what might come next. The VIX is up 6% in recognition that the market might have gotten a bit too complacent. It's still low by historical standards and still remains below all key technical levels; certainly no signs of major concerns. The NASDAQ continues to be the one index that is struggling to make progress as it stalls at its 200 day moving average. Seems like it would be more challenging for the overall market to move much higher if tech stocks are left behind. But what we're seeing now could look completely different by days end as we've seen for quite some time now. All of the major indexes were technically overbought coming into today so maybe just some normal profit taking ahead of higher prices. The S&P did stall the closer it got to 2800; that could be a tough level to clear and is key resistance. To the downside the 200 day moving average, currently at 2746, is now support.
