EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update: The market has been long overdue for a pullback, and in particular, one that lasts beyond a few hours. We're seeing all of the major indexes lower with traders wondering if the early losses will stick. This selling is coming with the market overbought and with the VIX back above its 20 day moving average for the first time in over a month. It's worth pointing out again that the S&P failed to clear a key level of resistance near 2815. In fact the bulls have tried to clear this level on five different occasions going back to October without success. So we've certainly got a marker that could either result in a near term top or, if cleared, take stocks even higher. Given recent market behavior it's difficult to bet against the market here. Yet it's stalled at key resistance making it difficult to put fresh capital to work. Tomorrow we'll get the first reading of Q4 GDP which could prove to be a market mover. In the meantime the current range on the S&P continues to be 2816 to the upside and 2748 to the downside. Next, I have looked at each of the stocks on the Strong earnings ChartList. I'm starting to see a few that moved up nicely on strong volume after reporting earnings that are getting closer to becoming high reward to risk trading candidates. But many have not pulled back enough to be worth pursuing. I do believe if we are patient more stocks will set up for better trades than they are now. We will keep you posted on any new trade alerts.
