EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update: Q1 GDP results came out today, talks with North Korea broke down and trade talks with China continue with the market mostly taking it all in stride with stocks slightly lower. Maybe the best way to describe the market at the moment is a stalemate. The bears are having no luck pulling the market lower and traders have gotten more cautious at key resistance. That resistance remains near 2815 on the S&P, a level that was challenged on Monday and since then progress has halted. Traders continue to focus on what's right rather than what's not, witness the abrupt halt to discussions with North Korea that traders are brushing off. And while GDP numbers were decent they aren't showing the strength in the economy that many had hoped for which traders are ignoring as well. But there's still some hesitation here to go long stocks with the S&P sitting at the same level it was at in October after the big move off the December low. Also worth pointing out is the 20 day moving average has converged on the 200 day on the S&P; the 20 day has not been above the 200 day since late October. So in some ways a crossroad that reflects what is going on in the overall market. We're getting ready to move out of February and into March and with Q4 earnings season pretty much out of the way with the S&P in the middle of a narrow range of 2815 to the upside and 2748 to the downside and until one of those goes not much to do.
