EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update:
Volatility is live and well with the VIX down 8% as traders' nerves aren't as frayed as yesterday with all of the major indexes higher. If you look at yesterday's action the Dow held right where it needed to at its 50 day moving average and the NASDAQ and S&P held right at their respective 20 days. In other words traders were once again willing to buy on the dip. Traders seem to like the fact that bond yields are up some today; not much but the non-stop fall in yields finally spooked the market. The recent selling did at least relieve the overbought conditions; the NASDAQ did drop close to 300 points in just a few days. Now the bulls are hoping they can get back to business as usual, hoping traders don't move to selling on any rallies. In looking at the S&P its pretty much in the middle of a new trading range of 2860 to the upside and 2785 to the downside. It could take a few days for traders to figure out if there's more room to run to the upside or if we'll need to see more selling to get more capital off of the sidelines. Makes sense to be very selective here until there's a clearer picture of where the market might be headed in the near term.
