EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: The going nowhere fast market continues; not going up fast and not going down fast. Some will say a consolidation period is not so bad which might be true but it generally ends up pinching most traders with stocks having a hard time holding gains on the long side or losses on the short side. Even the VIX is having a hard time taking a stand; it's fairly flat and right between key technical levels. Excepting Monday's bout of selling we've seen lower highs on the major indexes for a week now; traders are still buying on dips but aren't as willing to hold onto positions on any bounces. Though the S&P remains above all key technical levels, which should be seen as bullish, there's some hesitancy at the moment to get too aggressive to the long side. But as usual, good luck trying to short the market here. So where does this leave us? Same as yesterday; support on the S&P at 2785 and resistance at the most recent high of 2860. Seems like it's going to take some kind of out of the blue event to change the current narrative as traders start to look forward to earnings that will start to come out in droves in about two weeks. BRIEF COMMENTS ON WATCH LIST STOCKS SHORTS: None LONGS: Large Cap Watch List None Mid Cap Watch List LEG - Stock is higher and a close above $42.70 would be very bullish. TTD - Stock got off to a great start, up almost 5%, before pulling back with overall market. It's still higher but needs to resume its move higher or could move right back to our initial entry level and possibly even lower.
