EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update When the market is priced for perfection, any unforeseen "out of the blue" news is likely to have a negative impact on stocks. We're seeing that this morning with all of the major indexes lower though well off session lows as we begin a new trading day and week. Trader fear became evident early on with the VIX shooting up 45% as the day began, clearing all key technical levels and hitting its highest level since late January. But just as the S&P retested the low near 1900 from last week buyers emerged, a common them for quite some time now. And here we are once again needing to keep things in perspective after seeing both the NASDAQ and S&P hit all time highs last week; at what point do traders agree in unison that the market needs a breather? Apparently not quite yet. The bulls remain hopeful that any tariff issues remaining with China will get resolved and that today's scare is temporary. Perhaps that will turn out to be the case. But if nothing else the heavy selling early on should serve as a reminder that things can change quickly. But, for the moment, the market continues to be quite resilient and the bulls continue to hold the upper hand. The range on the S&P is 2898 to the downside and 2954 to the upside and maybe we'll have some more clarity by the time the market closes later today.
