EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update Something happened yesterday just as the S&P got within 2 points of its 50 day moving average. Buyers stepped in even with the VIX soaring, nervousness multiplying and US/China talks breaking down. Then today the market looked like it might pick up where it left off yesterday with traders still nervous but then buyers came in again with all of the major indexes now flat or slightly higher during this volatile week. For sure the headlines surrounding tariffs have spooked the market - held it hostage really - yet the bulls haven't thrown in the towel yet. Still, with the VIX making that explosive move yesterday, the market is not out of the woods yet. The market really is trading one headline at a time here which makes it much riskier to deploy a lot of capital to the long side. But there are still plenty of traders holding out hope that a deal with China will be struck and they don't want to be left behind. Right now the trading range on the S&P is 2858 to the downside - right at the 50 day - ant 2907 to the upside - right at the 20 day. There's a decent chance one of those will be cleared over the next few days. So best to be picky here, take profits when they come along and keep your stops in place in case the selling intensifies.
