EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update
Futures were bright green this morning just before ADP reported a much weaker jobs report than expected. Now we've got a mixed picture with tech stocks showing some weakness with the NASDAQ lower as it gravitates back to its 200 day moving average. The VIX is up only slightly but its back above all key technical levels as traders continue to wonder if what we've seen the past few sessions has only been an oversold bounce. The Dow is higher today but well off its session peak and is also having a tough time near its 200 day as traders become more cautious. The type of action we're seeing today is indicative of a technically wounded market; for months it was buying on the dips now it's more selling on any rallies. That weak ADP jobs report certainly caught a lot of traders by surprise and with the government jobs report coming out on Friday could keep traders on the defensive through Friday morning until the numbers are released. But the day is early. If the bulls can mount a rally traders might be attracted to lower prices. Still at the moment the bears need to be respected.
