EB Watch List Update Report
Dear Members:
Market Update
If you're looking for a market where both good and bad news are good news you're in luck with all of the major indexes up substantially higher in spite of a weaker than expected jobs report. The move higher today has both the Dow and S&P back above all key technical levels, quite a different picture than what the market was facing on Monday when all of the major indexes were below all key technical levels. It appears traders are much more attracted to the prospects of lower interest rates than whether or not jobs growth is slowing. Whatever the case the bulls have moved from being behind the eight ball to regaining the momentum all in the course of this week. The NASDAQ does continue to lag; it's still well below its 50 day moving average. But if the buying stays strong it could get back to that level, currently at 7855, though it's going to take some work. As usual the day's close will be worth watching; can the S&P close above its 50 day, currently at 2870? It's currently over ten points above that key technical level so we're going to find out with the next key level of resistance now just above 2890.
