EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update: The bulls are seeing how tough it is to make further progress once the S&P hit its recent all time high and profit taking kicked in. It makes sense that traders are being a bit more reluctant after that all time high was achieved; there could be more room to the upside but the reward to risk starts to shift with traders nervous that nice profits could disappear quickly. On the other hand we're seeing today - at least so far - that traders continue to have an appetite for stocks after yesterday's nice pullback and that buying on the dip isn't dead yet. It does seem obvious that traders are awaiting the results of upcoming talks between the US and China. On top of that Q2 earnings results will start to be released in 2-3 weeks with traders anxiously waiting to see if expectations are matched, exceeded or fall short. In the meantime it's not like we've seen any kind of major selling since that all time high was hit. Instead it's what might be expected; pretty normal. It still would help if tech stocks would show some leadership with the NASDAQ having a tough time gaining any traction as the market always does better when all of the major indexes are moving higher in sync. We know resistance on the S&P is now at 2964 with support just below 2900. Still have to give the bulls the edge here until we see something that changes the overall narrative.
