EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: Market Update: The market will close today at 1:00 pm eastern so the bulls wanted to make sure the S&P hit a record high early in the day. They got their wish with the S&P crossing 2980 for the first time in history. This record high comes ahead of Friday's non-farm payroll report with expectations that the jobs report will recover after a disappointing showing last week. The move higher also comes as the yield on the ten year treasury note falls below 2%, hitting its lowest level since late 2016. Some will argue that rates are falling in anticipation of trouble ahead but try telling that to the bulls who see lower rates as a positive for stocks. Now that the S&P has crossed 2980 the next key level of resistance will be 3000. But neither the Dow nor the NASDAQ has revisited its respective all time high so the bulls have something else to aim for. Friday's jobs report is important as it could potentially add fuel to the rally or stop it in its tracks. But for today it's quite clear who is in control.
