EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: Market Update: We're seeing how tough it is for the market to rocket higher when it gets to all time highs, especially when some highly visible stocks come up short on earnings. The combination of Facebook, Tesla, Paypal and Boeing coming up short has all of the major indexes seeing red today. Even with the market under pressure today all of the major indexes remain above all key technical levels and the VIX remains below all key technical levels. In other words the bulls are taking today's selling in stride. Traders will get another look at some key earnings after the bell tonight when Alphabet/Google and Amazon post their earnings. Lurking in the background is the upcoming Fed interest rate decision that will come next week. It's pretty much a certainty that the Fed will reduce rates; it's just a question of by how much. The S&P got as high as 3019 yesterday so that is now the new level of resistance. To the downside the bulls would like to hold 3000 on any further selling. Below that is the 20 day moving average, currently at 2981. It pulled back earlier in the session and is now trying to move back above its 20 day moving average, currently at $56.91. A close back above $57.23 would be positive.
