MARKET NOTE:
GE's big announcement this morning has helped to bolster the market. It's the kind of news the bulls were looking for to light a fire under traders. The Dow is back over 18,000 and the S&P is trying to climb back above 2100 for the first time in a few weeks. A strong close would at least put the shorts on notice that the bulls aren't ready to back down yet. Next up will be a slew of earnings reports that will come out next week. Expectations are low so any positive surprises could help the bulls make the case that it makes sense to be long here.
