EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: The monthly jobs report always brings with it surprises that inevitably has an impact on market action. We saw this happen this morning when the jobs numbers blew away expectations. The first reaction was a major move lower in futures. And the market did pull back but the NASDAQ then moved into positive territory. But overall a true case of selling on what should be seen as good news for the economy. Volatility at its best! Naturally we saw bond yields spike with the ten year treasury note now near 2.34%. This reflects an increased probability that the Fed will indeed raise rates during its December meeting. So the market is now accepting that as a real possibility. We do need to respect the fact that the S&P is now back below 2100 and if it closes below that level we could see additional selling. It got as low as 2083 today so that is now near term support. KEY EARNINGS REPORTS Companies reporting earnings today (November 6) include: CI and HUM Companies reporting earnings Monday (November 9) include: DISH, HTZ and HHC ADDITIONS TO WATCH LISTS: Let's get through today to see how the market ends going into the weekend and regroup on Monday for possible new opportunities.
