EB Watchlist Update Report

John Hopkins -
Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: The warmth of the holiday season notwithstanding, stocks are lower today as we enter the last trading week of the year. Seems like traders had a few days to think about the market and decided to sell rather than stay long stocks. Accordingly, the Dow and S&P are right back below all key technical levels, not what the bulls were hoping for to end the year. If you're looking for something to blame on today's selling you can go right to oil as the culprit which has given up some of last week's gains. At a minimum, let's say it's not helping. So traders appear to be thinking the Santa Claus rally they had hoped for might not happen, barring a turnaround sometime during the week. In the meantime, the bulls really don't want to see the S&P close back below 2051 as that would likely lead to additional selling. To the upside it would be positive if the bulls could get the S&P back above 2065; these are the numbers to watch at the moment. KEY EARNINGS REPORTS Companies reporting earnings today (December 28) include: There are no key earnings reports due out today Companies reporting earnings tomorrow (December 29) include: There are no key earnings reports due out on Tuesday ADDITIONS TO WATCH LISTS: No additions today; action is too iffy at the moment BRIEF COMMENTS ON SELECT WATCH LIST STOCKS: Large Cap Watch List BSX - Stock is down 1% and as long as it holds $18.44 will remain technically sound. FB - Stock is flat and a close above $106.79 would be bullish. Mid Cap Watch List COLM - Stock is down slightly as it continues to try to remain about its 20 day moving average. MPWR - Stock is down just over 1% as it attempts to remain above all key technical levels. SBGI - Stock is down just over 1.5% and is now back below both its 20 and 50 day moving averages. Needs to close back above $32.70 to regain the technical advantage. Small Cap Watch List AMKR - Stock is down over 3% today, giving up some of the recent gains. As long as it closes above $6.44 it will remain above all key technical levels which would be bullish. CALD - Stock is fairly flat for the day and it would be good to see it close back above $9.24. DELETIONS FROM OUR WATCH LISTS: There are no deletions from the Watch List today unless a Watch List stock closes below the stop loss provided. At your service, John Hopkins, EarningsBeats
