EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: The angst of late has been reduced some today with all of the major indexes up nicely, though off their respective session highs. The S&P climbed back above 1900 earlier in the session while the VIX is down by 10% as fear eases some. And oil is up 5% which has given the oil bulls some hope that the worst of the selling is over. This new found bullishness has traders wondering if it is safe to get back on the long side after the drubbing of late. But the one question that will hang over the market until closing time is this; can early gains hold? This has been the problem of late. It's been tough for the market to hold early gains. So a nice, solid close could help turn the tide in the near term. The high on the S&P so far has been 1906 so the bulls would like to clear that level by day's end. That would put the 20 day, now near 1945, in sight. To the downside the bulls know they must hold 1868 on any selling. But they really don't want to revisit that area with today's positive momentum. KEY EARNINGS REPORTS Companies reporting earnings today (January 22) include: GE, LM and STI Companies reporting earnings Monday (January 25) include: AMGN, HAL, KMB, MCD, and ZION ADDITIONS TO WATCH LISTS: Yesterday we added STMP and SJM to our Watch list with all important information on the site. BRIEF COMMENTS ON SELECT WATCH LIST STOCKS: Large Cap Watch List SJM - Stock is currently up by over 2% and back above all key technical levels which is bullish. BSX - Stock tried to clear its 20 day earlier in the session is up over 1% today and a close back above $17.90 would be bullish. Mid Cap Watch List There are no Mid Cap stocks on the Watch List at this time. Small Cap Watch List STMP - Stock is currently up by over 4% on positive action.
