EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE So what's going on today? Not that much really with the major indexes trading near their respective flat lines. Maybe the one thing to point out is a lower high so far on the S&P, no retest of that illusive 2000 level. But the bulls will argue that the bears have been unable to inflict any real pain of late and that is true. Instead we've got some consolidation going on which isn't so bad considering how much the market has climbed recently. There aren't any key economic reports due out this week and earnings season has mostly passed, especially the major companies. So the next really major event will come next week when the Fed meets to announce its rate decision. Consensus is they will stand pat for the moment but it's still important enough to have an impact on the overall market. But that's not until next week so we don't need to deal with it right now. So far today the S&P has held yesterday's low near 1979 so that is a level we need to keep an eye on because if that goes we could be looking at a move to the 20 day moving average, currently at 1952. And of course the bulls know they need to clear 2000 to have any hope of taking the market higher. Bottom line at the moment? Really nothing to do except lay low until we see if the bulls or the bears blink. BRIEF COMMENTS ON SELECT WATCH LIST STOCKS: Large Cap Watch List SHORTS: ROP - Stock continues to consolidate but currently remains below both its 50 and 200 day moving averages. Looks like it is going to take some market weakness to take this one lower. Mid Cap Watch List There are no Mid Cap stocks on the Watch List at this time.
