EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: Traders decided it was a good time to take some profits this morning with all of the major indexes lower. So far the NASDAQ is straddling its 20 day moving average, now at at 4883. In the meantime the S&P has so far easily held well above support at 2068. The selling in the NASDAQ this morning can be attributed to some weaker than expected earnings reports last night from Microsoft, Alphabet and Starbucks. But to be honest, we needed some selling; the Dow and S&P had become stretched. Plus, the bulls kept the S&P above 2100 for a few sessions while getting within a few points of the November 2015 high of 2116. Sometimes it takes more than a few shots for gains to hold since a close above that 2116 level could put the all time high of 2132 in sight. Interestingly, the VIX is flat as a pancake, even with the selling. This tells us that traders aren't too worried about the bit of selling this morning. So to me this is just a normal pullback with the bulls still holding the upper hand.
