EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: The new trading week is off to a weak start with all of the major indexes lower. Seems like traders decided to pocket some profits this morning ahead of the Fed rate decision coming up on Wednesday. In fact, there are many important economic reports due out this week including Q1 advanced GDP on Thursday which could most definitely move the market. Fear has ramped up some with the VIX higher by almost 11% and it is back above its 20 day moving average, so a mild setback for the bulls. The NASDAQ is back below its 20 day moving average which has put the 50 day, now at 4850, in play. It should be pointed out that the NASDAQ has remained above its 20 day moving average for two months now. So its got some technical issues that seem to be spooking traders. Then we've got the S&P closing in on its 20 day as well which is now at 2069. This is a level the bulls know they need to hold or face further selling. We can see from the action the past few sessions that 2100 on the S&P remains a roadblock for the bulls. Now the question becomes, will traders soon see today's selling as an opportunity to go long or will they be content to wait and see if the selling intensifies? The first major test will come if the S&P gets close to that 2069 level. Its only 10 points away so it won't take that much to get there. Its one of those times when it makes sense to be cautious and see what develops.
