EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: The market got off to a rough start this morning but since then all of the major indexes have moved into positive territory. The NASDAQ is struggling the most so far, perhaps in anticipation of Apple's earnings after the bell. In other words, when AAPL talks, the market listens! So far many analysts think AAPL will disappoint. However, if they put in a better than expected showing that could help to buoy the market. Whatever the case, tech stocks are weak today, with the NASDAQ straddling its 20 day moving average the past few days. It's a level the bulls would like to hold into tomorrow's Fed interest rate announcement scheduled for 2:00 pm eastern with the hope that the announcement will favor stocks, at least in the near term. Some good news for the bulls. The VIX is flat and it remains below all key technical levels. So even with the bit of selling of late traders seem to be just fine with the market at the moment. For sure it will be bullish as well if the NASDAQ closes in positive territory by day's end because it would have successfully held its 20 day for 3 sessions in a row. But with the Fed announcement coming tomorrow and the advanced Q1 GDP on Thursday you can expect continued volatility with a positive bias as long as the Fed says the right words when they speak.
