EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: The market is off to a weak start as we begin a new trading day and month. We can see that so far the Dow and S&P have moved back below their respective 20 day moving averages something that looked very possible coming into the roughest trading month of the year. The NASDAQ dipped below its 20 day for the second day in a row only to move back above intra day. The VIX is up almost 5% as it climbs back above key technical levels, so still one finger on the sell button here. The selling today comes one day before what is usually the most important report of the year, the non-farm payroll report which will be released at 8:30 am eastern tomorrow. Traders have been preparing for the Fed to raise rates as early as this month's meeting but then the monthly ISM report came out very weak while showing a slowdown in manufacturing putting a rate increase into question. THIS is what traders have to deal with at the moment while never liking uncertainty. It should be pointed out that the S&P attempted to clear its 20 day earlier in the session without success. It also bounced before it got to key support. All of this adding up to the range on the S&P is now 2174 to the upside and 2150 to the downside. We might have to wait until tomorrow morning to see which one gives first, with no need to rush into anything here until we get more clarity, especially as we approach a three day holiday weekend.
