EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: Government non-farm payrolls came in weaker than expected. At first the market responded positively but now all of the major indexes are lower. The S&P is back below both its 20 and 50 day moving averages and back below 2150, at least at the moment. It looks like there is some support right around 2140 but should that go we could see a revisit of the 2120 level, a level the bulls would likely fight hard to hold. Even the NASDAQ is struggling today as it moves back below its 20 day moving average. And the VIX is up 10% today as it moves back above both its 20 and 50 day moving averages. So there's definitely a pick up in nervousness today. We've mostly seen willingness to buy on dips. So the way the market closes today will be both interesting and could give us some additional clues as to where the market might be headed in the near term. Earnings season will begin next week so perhaps traders have decided to be more cautious until some results come out. In the meantime, given the S&P is below two important technical levels, we should err on the side of caution as well. Should we see a reversal later in the day it could show that the bulls aren't quite ready to lay down yet.
