EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET NOTE: A few things of note today. First, the VIX is higher again, up by over 12% as nervousness accelerates. This is happening as the Fed begins day one of their FOMC meeting with an interest rate announement tomorrow at 2:00 pm eastern. No one expects a rate raise at this meeting but the market likes to "pout" ahead of each meeting to remind Fed members that they need to remain as market friendly as possible. Next, we've got an election now in one week, something that certainly has the attention of the market. Right now the S&P is at 2113, just below important support, the October 13 low of 2114. In the meantime, we can see that the NASDAQ has continued to weaken since its 20 day moving average dipped below its 50 day, always a tell tale signal. Next we've got the monthly job report coming out on Friday, something the Fed will specifically be keying in on as it continues to look at the possibility of raising rates. So when you put all of this together it makes sense that volatility has picked up big time. The somewhat good news for the bulls is both the NASDAQ and S&P are getting close to being technically oversold. And its coming with the S&P nearing that important support level and the NASDAQ now within 20 points of important support as well. And all of this is coming as we enter November, one of the most bullish months of the year. But what makes this year more interesting is the election, with traders trying to handicap who will come out on top. Right now there's no reason to take unnecessary risks here. If the S&P closes below that 2114 level then 2106 is next. At this point I would rather wait and see how the market responds to the rate decision. Then we can take it from there.
