EB Watch List Update Report
MARKET NOTE:
Dear Members:
I've been focusing on the VIX the past few sessions as it's showing renewed trader confidence. The same can be said today. Accordingly all of the major indexes are higher with all of them back above all key technical levels. As has been the trend lately, tech stocks are showing the most strength while blue chips are lagging. Part of what we might be seeing could have to do with quarterly window dressing as March nears an end. So it's going to be very interesting to see if there is any follow through on this buying or if traders will use this recent boost to take profits. In looking at a chart, the S&P looks like it could take a shot at 2380 if traders remain in a buying mood. If it gets there it could run into some stiff resistance. To the downside 2358 - the 20 day moving average and low of the session - is now support. So we've got a pretty tight trading range as we move into quarter end. While I'm pleased to see the S&P recapturing its 20 day I'm still not entirely convinced the selling is over. So for the moment going to just watch and see what the rest of the day and tomorrow brings.
