MARKET NOTE: Dear Members: It's groundhog day. The S&P is hugging 2400 as no one seems to want to miss any rally that might occur should it clear the recent high of 2405. But traders are remaining very cautious; what they don't want to do is jump in too early only to find the market is topping. The VIX is down slightly; no worries really. Perhaps the log jam clears later today when the FOMC releases minutes from its last meeting. Bottom line is it makes sense to wait it out until we see the break with 2406 being a level that needs to be cleared. Until then best to preserve capital.
