EB Watch List Update Report

John Hopkins -
MARKET NOTE: Dear Members: The VIX is lower again today as it tries to get back below all key technical levels and as traders calm down some after the recent selling. The NASDAQ is trying to move back above its 20 day moving average. In the meantime the Dow has hit an all time high; talk about rotation! This shift from all tech all the time to a new focus in blue chips was way overdue as the market is always better off when the major indexes are more in sync which has not been the case for a while. At the same time it's tough to give the all clear sign; are we getting an oversold bounce in the NASDAQ today that won't last or are traders going to take advantage of the move lower? The S&P isn't at an all time high like the Dow is today but it's holding up pretty well, remaining above all key technical levels. In the midst of all of the recent volatility we've got a Fed rate announcement to look forward to tomorrow. The consensus is the Fed will raise rates by 25 basis points so it is the statement that traders will listen to carefully to see if they can pick up any new clues pertaining to the future. We continue to be in a tight trading range on the S&P of 2446 to the upside and 2417 to the downside as the NASDAQ tries to find some footing. So a bit of a mixed picture at the moment.
