EB Watch List Update Report

Dear Members: MARKET UPDATE The week is off to a negative start with all of the major indexes lower. Certainly traders have been drawn more to tech stocks lately than blue chip stocks with the Dow testing its 20 day moving average earlier in the session while the NASDAQ tried to get to an all time high. The VIX is up slightly but still remains close to its all time low as complacency rules. Seems like traders think there's not a care in the world. This is a big week for earnings with Google reporting its numbers today after the bell. We'll also hear from Facebook, Intel and hundreds of other companies as the week progresses. It appears as though the traders are willing to hold on to stocks until they hear from more companies this week and next. So far we've seen companies that have beaten and raised guidance be rewarded but those that have come up short have been punished. No better examples than NFLX, up nearly 20% since its blowout report last week compared to General Electric and Goldman Sachs, both losing ground on weak reports. Google's report after the bell could help determine the mood of the market for the morning, especially the NASDAQ which had been up non-stop 10 days in a row until the little bit of selling on Friday. So a tug of war at the moment with the bulls hoping to take the market even higher while the bears are hoping the market has made a near term top. From my perspective, still no reason to chase here, especially tech stocks which have risen so much with no correction. In other words,I prefer to wait for better opportunities.
