EB Daily Market Report - Friday, September 26, 2025
Dear Members:
First, Tom asked me to pass along to members that ChartLists have been updated on our website.
Next, we will have a live stream event tomorrow morning at 10:00 am EST leading up to Monday's Q4 Market Update. Tomorrow's event is open to all members with Monday's quarterly event reserved for our annual members. If you are currently a trial or monthly member and want to upgrade to an annual membership, with all of the attendant perks, just send a note to Matt at [email protected] and he will get you set up with a preferred rate for existing members. Also, we will make sure to get room instructions to everyone both for tomorrow's event and Monday's Q4 Market Update prior to the start of each respective webinar.
Next, traders are in a more bullish mood today with all of the major indexes higher as we get ready to wrap up another trading day and week.
Worth noting is that all of the major indexes had successful 20 day EMA tests; i.e., bounced right where the bulls hoped they would. And the VIX has settled down after closing in on 18 yesterday and is now trading closer to 15.50 as fear has subsided some.
Interestingly, this mornings economic data wasn't really inflationary friendly but traders remain confident that the Fed will continue cutting rates at future meetings. This will continue to be scrutinized right up until the Fed meets in late October so be prepared for continued volatility with the bears ready to pounce on any signs that the Fed might hold off on aggressively reducing rates.
The range on the S&P is now well defined; 6699 - the most recent high - to the upside and 6579 - the 20 day EMA - to the downside. We're pretty much right in the middle of this range so should keep an eye on what develops the final two hours of the day. Barring any swift moves higher or lower into the close we'll have to continue to give the nod to the bulls.
Tom will be back with his Weekly Market Report on Monday.
At your service,
John Hopkins
